The platform took its cut. The payment processor took another. There was a listing fee. If it came through offsite ads, there went another 15%. Then the box, the label, the postage, the materials.
Then it took you fifty minutes to make.
Most sellers have never worked out the answer. The ones who do usually find their favorite product is their worst-paying one — which is exactly the sort of thing you want to know before you make another forty of them.
Here is what the sample shop in this file looks like:
| Product | You earn per hour |
|---|---|
| Sticker sheets | $63.15 |
| Resin earrings | $30.57 |
| Digital portrait | $19.47 |
| Knitted baby blanket | $6.22 |
Same shop. Same seller. Ten times the difference.
Every seller has a blanket — the piece they're proudest of, that customers love, that pays six dollars an hour. This tells you which one it is.
How it works
Fee Setup — enter your platform's fees once. Listing, transaction, payment processing, regulatory, offsite ads, on-site ad spend. It blends them into your real take, including offsite ads weighted by how often they actually fire in your shop — the fee almost every free calculator ignores and the one that quietly turns a profitable item into a loss.
Profit Per Product — one row per item. Price, shipping, materials, packaging, and the minutes it takes. It returns what the buyer pays, what the platform takes, what you keep, your margin, and your true hourly rate — plus a plain verdict from "Your best earner — make more of these" to "LOSING MONEY on every sale."
Price Finder — work backwards. Tell it what you want to earn per hour and it gives you the price to charge. And when the market won't bear that price, it doesn't just scold you: it tells you what you'd really be earning at the market price, and how fast you'd have to make it for the numbers to work.
Monthly Snapshot — units per month per item, so you can see what the shop actually pays you, your real hourly rate across everything, and which product is quietly earning the most and the least.
Works for any platform
Not affiliated with Etsy or any marketplace. The sample fees reflect a US Etsy shop for 2026 and every single one is an editable cell — type over them for Amazon, eBay, Shopify, Faire, a craft fair, or your own website. Fee schedules change; check yours and update them.
Built for
Handmade and craft sellers · print-on-demand shops · digital product sellers · vintage and resale · anyone selling on a marketplace who has never worked out their real hourly rate — or is afraid to.
