Every business with trucks wrote its rate sheet at some fuel price and then left it alone. The big carriers run a surcharge table off a weekly index; the four-truck delivery company runs on a feeling. This workbook takes your fleet's gallons — miles, MPG, the idling — and prices the gap between the fuel price your rates assume and the price on the sign today. The sample fleet is losing $1,215 a month, $14,580 a year, and its 28% margin has quietly become 26.6%.

Three ways to charge it. A flat dollar per job, a percent of the invoice, cents per mile — each rounded the way you would say it to a customer, each showing what it recovers and a Status so you don't over-recover. The sample's honest number is $5.52 a job; $6 flat, 1.5% or 15¢ a mile each bring back the whole increase.
