Two routes can bill the same and earn nothing alike. One has nine stops in one neighbourhood. The other has nine stops across the county. This workbook prices every route the way it actually runs and tells you which days are earning and which are just busy.

Every stop is priced by its minutes — including the drive to reach it. Type the route, the customer, what it bills, how long the work takes and how long the drive is. The workbook costs each stop at your all-in route-hour rate: crew, burden, truck, gear, fuel, overhead. In the sample that is $92.28 an hour, and drive minutes cost exactly what work minutes cost, because the crew is paid and the truck is burning fuel either way.

Every route is rolled up and graded. Stops, hours, bills, cost, profit, profit per hour, share of the day driving, how full the day is — and a Status column, HEALTHY, WATCH or ALERT, against your own numbers. The sample's Wednesday commercial route earns $61.20 an hour. Its Thursday lake route, same crew and same truck, loses $5.71 an hour, because 34% of the day is driving that no customer pays for.
